Otto is my one and only personal horse. I got him directly from the track, so I have done all of his off the track training. Otto's passion truly lies with show jumping. He has competed at a meter but is slowly progressing up the heights. While he will never be a grand prix showjumper, we both strive to be better every time we enter the arena. Otto also has the personality of a Golden Retriever. Everyone who meets him instantly loves him. He is also quirky with his treats. He will not eat apples, carrots, bananas, sugar cubes, and anything else he considers poisonous. His favorite treats are Ritz crackers.
Flash is one of the homebreds of Hillock that I ride. He is the highest trained horse at the farm where we compete at the Grand Prix level. We just got to this level, so our current goals are to establish ourselves in this level and, hopefully, next year, compete in some CDIs. Flash tries his hardest every single ride and does get frustrated with himself when he messes up. I've never met a horse who wants to succeed just as much as I do. We both work harder and harder every ride. We get along really well, and I truly think he will be a star at the Grand Prix level.
Felicita is one of the best mares I've ever met. She is super talented and has the best personality. Filly thinks she is the queen of Hillock Dressage Horses. Felicita was one of the first horses I rode at Hillock, and we got along immediately. I love love love this mare, and she brings me joy to ride every day. Filly is going Prix St. George but is about to debut at Intermediate 1. Next year, we hope to compete at a CDI in those levels. Each time we enter the competition ring, we get better and better, and I can't wait for our future together.
Frito is a stallion by Franzikus FRH out of an Espri mare. He was one of the first horses I rode at Hillock. The first ride, Frito thought he was a bucking bronco. So much so, I had to get off and lunge him. Since then, he's been a perfect angel. Frisantos and I got a sixth place at our first regionals together out of a class of nearly 20 other professionals. This horse and I have such a close bond that we have full faith in each other at shows. Frito is going Prix St. George, and we hope to do Intermediate 1 soon. Next year, we hope to compete in a CDI in a small tour.
Fern is one of our stallions by Franzikus FRH out of a Donnerhall mare. He is a super sweet and cuddly horse, and has talent to boot. This lap dog of a stallion loves to work and has a natural suspension to his trot that is going to help him finish going up the levels quickly. Fern is going Prix St. George currently and hopes to compete in Intermediate 1 soon. Next year, we hope to compete in a small tour in a CDI. I love this horse so much, and we have a truly special connection, where he brings a smile to my face with every ride.
Penelope is one of the homebreds from Hillock. Her mom is Big Girl, and just like her brother Flash, Penelope has great gaits and a great work ethic. She is extremely eager to please, and that is evident in her collected work. Penelope is also a joy on the ground, and she is an in your pocket type horse. Pen is going Fourth level right now, but will be going Prix St George in no time. It took a minute for the two of us to bond, but now that we have, we are going to be unstoppable.
Una is the newest addition to my string of horses. Lisa bought her in September of 2024. Una is by Glamourdale out of a Bellissimo M mare. She has so much potential, and she is bursting at the seams with talent. Along with being a great horse for the future, she is also super sweet on the ground. Her loving nature makes it even more fun to work with her daily. We instantly connected, and I hope our bond gets stronger and stronger as we develop together.
